  Tox Uthat

A quantum phase inhibitor invented in the 27th century by Kal Dano. The Tox Uthat was a palm-sized crystal capable of halting all nuclear reaction within a star. Fearing the device would be stolen, Dano fled to the 22nd century, where he hid the device on planet Risa. The Uthat became something of a holy grail to criminals from the 27th century who traveled back in time to find the object, and for 24th-century archaeologists, who believed that the legends of the Uthat had a basis in fact. These included Dr. Samuel Estragon, who spent half of his life in search of the Uthat. Upon his death in 2366, his assistant Vash was successful in finding the device on planet Risa, hidden in a Horga'hn statuette. Vash was not the only one interested in the Uthat; other parties included Sovak and two Vorgon criminals from the future. Jean-Luc Picard, vacationing on Risa at the time, destroyed the Tox Uthat to prevent it falling into unsrupulous hands. tox uthat
