Worf is the first Klingon warrior to serve in Starfleet. Worf's biological father, Mogh, and mother were killed in 2346 at Khitomer in the Romulan attack. He was adopted by humans Helena and Sergei Rozhenko, a crew member of the U.S.S. Intrepid NCC-1831. He has a foster brother, Nikolai Rozhenko. He has a son Alexander Rozhenko, born in 2366, by K'Ehleyr (deceased). In 2368, his spinal column was shattered in an accident and he became paralyzed. He had genotronic replication, an experimental surgical procedure invented by Dr. Toby Russell. After destruction of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D at Veridian III Worf took extended personal leave at the Klingon monastery on the planet Boreth. He transferred to station Deep Space 9 in 2372 as Strategical Operations Officer during (unsuccessful) Klingon invasion of Cardassia. When Worf found living on the station uncomfortable, he moved into his quarters on the U.S.S. Defiant NX-74205. In 2373, Worf and Garak rescued Dr. Bashir and General Martok from a Dominion Internment Camp in the Gamma Quadrant; Worf proved his honor to Martok and became a member of the House of Martok. Worf married Lt. Commander Jadzia Dax in 2374. Worf enjoys Klingon history, Klingon martial arts and Klingon opera. While serving on the Enterprise-D, Guinan introduced him to his favorite beverage: prune juice, "a Warrior's Drink"
