Benzites from the same geostructure often look identical to a non-Benzite. Captain Laporin, the commander of a Federation starship that was stormed by Klingons in 2372, was of Benzite ancestry. Benzites are sometimes called Benzenites. By 3272, advances in Benzite medical technology made it unnecessary for Benzites to use a respiration device in Class-M atmosphere.
