Cardassian political dissident and former correspondent for the Cardassian information service. While she was serving on station Terok Nor in 2363, Lang became romantically involved with Quark. Their relationship, which began when Lang learned that Quark had been selling food to Bajorans, ended a month later when Lang discovered that Quark had been using her personal access code to steal money from the communication service. Lang subsequently left Terok Nor and began teaching as a Professsor of Political Ethics. Her unorthodox political views brought her into the Cardassian underground movement, and by 2370 she was eventually regarded by Cardasssian authorities as a dangerous terrorist and marked for death. She fled Cardassia with two of her students, Rekelen and Hogue, and took refuge at Terok Nor (now called Deep Space 9) when her shuttle was fired on by a Cardassian warship. The three escaped Cardassian authorities with the aid of Quark, who still loved Lang, and Garak, who believed he was acting in best interests of Cardassia.
