Minor Cardassian officer at the infamous Gallitep labor camp during the Cardassian occupation of Bajor. He served as file clerk to Gul Darhe'el, the brutal commander of the camp. Marritza's inability to stop the atrocities against the Bajoran prisoners caused him great guilt. After Gallitep, Marritza moved on to other duties and settled on planet Kora II, in 2364, where he was an instructor at a military academy for five years. There he underwent a cosmetic alteration to look like his old commander, Gul Darhe'el, and set into motion a ruse that brought him to Deep Space 9 in 2369. As he planned, he was arrested by station authorities who believed that he was the infamous Darhe'el. When station personnel discovered Marritza's plan, Marritza protested that he was Darhe'el and that he must be punished so that his people would be forced to hear the terrible atrocities committed against the Bajoran people and perhaps feel the terrible guilt he felt. Marritza was nevertheless freed to be returned to Kora II. While being escorted to a ship, Kainon, a Bajoran, took justice into his own hands, killing Marritza not because he was "the Butcher of Gallitep", but simply because he was Cardassian.
Aamin Marritza was first seen in "Duet" (DS9).
