Bajoran religious activist who attempted to assassinate Vedek Bareil at Deep Space 9 in 2369 to support Vedek Winn's bid to succeed Kai Opaka. Neela sabotaged station systems, planted a terrorist bomb, and later shot at Bareil. Although her acts were considered criminal, Neela believed she was acting in accordance with the will of her people's Prophets. She had been working on Deep Space 9 as an engineer as a cover for her attempt to murder Bareil. Neela was first seen in "Duet" (DS9). |
