A traditional Betazoid means of presenting gifts of great value or importance, these ornate containers were decorated with the sculpted image of a humanoid face. In the presence of the intended recipient, the face on the box would briefly come to life, delivering a message or greeting before the box would open. Wyatt Miller's family sent Deanna Troi's bonding gifts to her in such a box.  The face on Deanna's gift box was played by Armin Shimerman, who would later portray various Ferengi, most notably Quark in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. |
